Chipped paint and small dent

I have a small dent and chipped paint on my 2003 camry, dark gray. The chipped paint is maybe 1/2 to 3/4 inch wide and the dent is pretty shallow.

What might be a reasonable repair cost estimate be?

Preferably from the dealership, last auto shop experience wasn't so good, but dealer always good, but pricey. or if you can recommend someone good in the irvine/tustin area.

Did you ever get an estimate from your dealer?

the small dent is usually about 120 to repair, as we utalize a nationwide dent service called dent wizard at the dealership i work for
look them up for exact pricing

ad for the paint, expect to pay at least 70 or more for that....its mostly a labor charge, since it takes alot of work for that tiny area
another solution is clean it up, wetsand and prep the area yoursel, apply a few light coats of touch up paint, wetsand again, and buff/wax the area....thats my method and it works pretty well

Thanks for the advice. I called up a detail place called the bumper guy in irvine, and sent him some pictures, he said it would be upwards of 450 because of the location of the damage, right side of rear window, between rear window and passenger window.

Here' are the pictures i emailed him.

http://img17.imagevenue.com/img.php?..._122_643lo.JPG

he said they would need to take the entire assembly off to do it and it would take two days.
Is this reasonable, or is there another way.

The dent is more of a gouge, not a dent, almost a deep scratch. Bottom left of chip in the picture.

Is the DIY method you mentioned good, I mean is it comparable to a body shop's work? And where can i get the materials?

it is in fact the method i use on my car, and im OCD about quality and the look of my car....i spend in upwards of 400 a year on detailing supplies alone
you can get the supplies at your local auto store and the tough up paint at your favorite toyota dealer. just get the paint code off the door jamb and youre good to go

as for the ding, it looks to be a gouge and will be more expensive to fix because of the location....i'd still advise getting a few opinions and choosing the best price
