Oil Stick Stuck in 02 Corolla

My friends wife came over earlier today and asked me to check her oil in her 02 Corolla. The problem was I couldn't get the stick out to check it.It was like glued in and I didn't want to force it out on fear of breaking the stick.Years ago that happened to my dads Intrepid and I broke the stick trying to remove it.He sold th POS right after that as their were a ton of other things wrong with it anyway.

What would cause the oil stick to get so stuck? She says the oil is being changed by the dealer every 3 to 5k miles. This dealership also has a reputation of not changing the oil every time the car goes in.I told her but she still wants to go there anyway.

When she bought the car new back in 02 it came with free oil changes as long as she owns the car.The car has about 40k miles on it now.It dosen't smoke and no oil light ever came on saying its low on oil.I am thinking their might be sludge in there but don't know.

Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Yeah, the little rubber ring that sits inside the tube is dried out. Just pull.

Soak it down with seafoam or something as much as you can get it in there. I'd try heating it with a heat gun too (leave the hair dryer in the bathroom, it wont work for this i dont think). Wiggle and wobble it, twist it, it will take a lot before it breaks. Just get the summonabatch out and change the seal on it.

well first of all, this is the wrong fourm
this belongs in the COROLLA section....and youre in the CAMRY section

anyways, this is a somehwat common issue, and it has nothing to do with sludge....the issue is that the rubber gasket in the oil dipstick has prob gotten warped and dried in place with the constant engine heat....the simple solution is to just twist and wiggle it out of place

Its all the same dipstick. The answer to this problem will work with ANY make or model vehicle.
