i know of a couple of gen 5ers but dont think ive seen any gen 5.5ers with a retrofit. i mean i thought i could omit the hid retrofit all together because of the price, but the more i read up on it the more im fascinated. i saw some pictures of a tl projector with a extra clear lens and it was all i needed to see! also am i wrong here but do the gen 6s come stock with hid xenon? i mean they have projectors stock right?

i have a retrofit on my 05, but haven't shown night pictures of the cutoff. there's a thread with pictures somewhere...
I think you are mistaken. Look at his user name: LE05.

Always got something else in mind...
ok i was mistaken, here is LE05's retrofit.. *drooool* how much ya want for you to do that for my car hehe
i'll sell you my old ones once i finish the new retrofit
nah, my first retrofit is actually quite crappy, you don't want them. they look nice on the outside, but the internals are all very screwed up. you can't adjust the low beams because i cut out the reflectors and mounted the projectors directly to the back of the headlights. as a result the height adjusters only move the high beams... plus, the passenger side shakes like crazy when the car is driven.

haha well since u are already doing a new retrofit, making an identical one shouldnt be a problem, eh?
my main concern is that ill fuck up my headlights being that its my first time... i dont wanna spen BIG bucks on a porsche or TL projector, clear lens, ballasts etc, etc and screw somethin up. and i also dont wanna go the cheap kit route. AND i dont wanna pay an extra 300 for someone to do it for me.... looks like im screwed...
It gotta give it a shot. I guess whats keeping me back is the fact that I don't have an extra set of headlights + no oven. The no oven thing is whats keeping me from doing a retro haha.

well its going to much better than the old one, thats for sure TSX projectors outperform e46 projectors by A LOT. i've made the shrouds a little more oem looking. i'll post some pics up tomorrow of the passenger side, its not on the car yet though. sealing up the drivers side tomorrow as well.

you don't really need bixenon projectors... i think our halogen highs are decent. nothing wrong with using bixenons though, just won't be easy fitting them.
its really not too hard... if you're particularly handy with tools, retrofitting projectors should be pretty easy. the only advice i'd suggest is to:
1. take your time.
2. take your time!
3. buy another pair of headlights (that way you can still use your car while you work on the retrofit)
4. research! i assume you've already been to hidplanet, but there's a couple of writeups for the gen5 camrys.
you're welcome to ask me questions if you decide to do it.
