2004 camry locks doors by itself

Hi,
This is my first post. I have a 2004 Camry and the doors lock by themselves. It hasn't happened yet, but I know someday the thing will lock the doors with my keys on the front seat. Does anyone know how to turn this annoying feature off?
Thanks,
Joe

Does it re-lock after you press the unlock button for 60 seconds? The dealership can turn this feature off. I don't know how to do it manually.
Or does it to lock itself with the key still in the ignition and you never press the lock key before? If the latter is the case then I would have the expert take a look. Btw, do you have aftermarket alarm?

there's a whole section in the owners manual on this.

If you have an aftermarket alarm, or an upgrade from the existing, there should be a valet switch. I know for my car-- after being idle for 30 sec, the alarm turns on; after an additional 30 seconds it locks. But yeah.. as mentioned, the dealer should be able to turn this option off.

And FYI~ keep that little plastic key in your wallet in case your key ever gets locked inside.

I don't have anything aftermarket. It is a factory "feature". I don't remember it ever happening with the key in the ignition. I'll check with the dealer. I hope they don't charge me a "diagnostic charge".
