5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I am going to be selling mine in February and I am wondering what resale looks like.
As for tranny issues. I havent gotten any issues recently but I used to get a slight flare in RPM when the car would change gears. When I say flare, I mean the revvs go up but no accel because the engine hasnt locked into the gear yet. I got the problem sparingly and only under non-aggressive/very-easygoing driving conditions.

Well, I dont usually like to give out too much info.
But its fully loaded up, supposedly immaculate shape, and we're getting it for 21,995.
It was 23,900 miles on it though.
No biggie hopefully.
My main question is: WILL THE PROBLEM FOREVER BE PRESENT?
Is there anything that will END this problem?
From what I gather, most of you guys are just saying "well....its not that big of a deal".
I know it *may* not be, but Im not liking that way of thinking.
I sold my 07 SE V6 Loaded, Heated Sport Leather, Moonroof, Mats, Spoiler, Navigation,Tinted, HID Headlights, 20,000 miles for $22,900

Are you guys getting rid of your 07 due to the tranny problems not being solved??
So far all news I have found on this is bad...bad...bad
Quick answers appreciated. Tomorrow is the deal date.
It is good that you do some research before you buy your car. But keep in mind of the percentage of how many 07 V6 have flare compare to total number of sale. On this forum, the majority of people join the forum and post is because they have problems and looking for an answer (that how I joined) So just because you see a lot of bad news on this forum does not mean the Camry you'll buy is gonna be bad. No one will know what kind of car you'll get even if you buy a brand new one. One thing for sure is Toyota Corp. will take care of its customers.
If you're worry that much why don't you work out a deal before you buy a car for an extended warranty.

But from what everybody seems to be saying, once you have a transmission problem.....there is no fix.
I definitely cant see myself taking a car in to get its transmission replaced. I read a horror story about that on another website.
And it sounds like such an invariable thing, there is no way I can tell if or if it will not happen.
Plus my girl is going to test drive it tomorrow/pick it up....not me...and the dealership is far away, so it looks like if we get a bad one....we're screwed.
