Wireless,

Okay brotha, I just got done searching and Im still kind of confused.

Im getting really concerned now because me and my fiancee are very close to inking a deal out on a 07 camry SE v6 that has 24,000 on it.

Thats 12,000 miles left on the warranty. Hopefully enough to protect us.

If Im reading this right, the "flare" is in between gears? Basically like it flying up in rpm's as it shifts?

I know this can't be terribly good for the transmission, so has any cars actually had tranny damage from this?

And can the issue be resolve from getting it reflashed?

Ima keep searching, but anybody feel free to add your 2 cents.

How much is the 07 SE V6 gonna run you guys?

I am going to be selling mine in February and I am wondering what resale looks like.

As for tranny issues. I havent gotten any issues recently but I used to get a slight flare in RPM when the car would change gears. When I say flare, I mean the revvs go up but no accel because the engine hasnt locked into the gear yet. I got the problem sparingly and only under non-aggressive/very-easygoing driving conditions.

^ Toyota should of resolved this issue by now. It was issued last year when it first came out in March.

Well, I dont usually like to give out too much info.
But its fully loaded up, supposedly immaculate shape, and we're getting it for 21,995.
It was 23,900 miles on it though.

No biggie hopefully.

My main question is: WILL THE PROBLEM FOREVER BE PRESENT?

Is there anything that will END this problem?

From what I gather, most of you guys are just saying "well....its not that big of a deal".

I know it *may* not be, but Im not liking that way of thinking.

It is good that you do some research before you buy your car. But keep in mind of the percentage of how many 07 V6 have flare compare to total number of sale. On this forum, the majority of people join the forum and post is because they have problems and looking for an answer (that how I joined) So just because you see a lot of bad news on this forum does not mean the Camry you'll buy is gonna be bad. No one will know what kind of car you'll get even if you buy a brand new one. One thing for sure is Toyota Corp. will take care of its customers.
If you're worry that much why don't you work out a deal before you buy a car for an extended warranty.

lammydi,

Im glad you posted....
I got two questions for you:

1: Will the same strut bar you have work with the v-6 model?
2: Where did you pick up your spolier (and are the ones on ebay safe?)

Thanks

I would pass on this purchase...if you are serious, ask the dealer for the service history, does it have history of trans. problems???

But from what everybody seems to be saying, once you have a transmission problem.....there is no fix.

I definitely cant see myself taking a car in to get its transmission replaced. I read a horror story about that on another website.

And it sounds like such an invariable thing, there is no way I can tell if or if it will not happen.

Plus my girl is going to test drive it tomorrow/pick it up....not me...and the dealership is far away, so it looks like if we get a bad one....we're screwed.
