5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I had a few problems with my 07 I4 SE and was wondering if some of you guys could help me figure out which ones are covered under warranty:
1.) Sometimes when I turn my car on, the CD Player acts reallllllly funny. It'll basically malfunction. The writing will be all funny, I'll hear weird stuff (kinda like a messed up radio), and I wont be able to control it. Will they give me a new one?
2.) I have cloth floor mats, will they replace them with new ones due to the recall, or is the recall only for the all weather mats?
3.) I have condensation in both my headlights some mornings ( I haven't taken them apart for a retrofit....yet). Can I get new ones?
4.) On my driver's side, one of my doors is either too low or too high. I can tell because the silver trim on the doors don't line up with one another. Will they fix this?
5.) The Paint on my stock SE rims have chipped. They are not scratched, the paint has just chipped off. Will Toyota give me new ones?

1) Yes, They will replace it.
2) I believe just the All-Weather.
3) They most likely wont do anything about the lights. This is considered normal as long as there is not standing water in the bottom of the lights. (per owners manual)
4) Mine was the same. They will fix it. All you need to do is adjust the striker assembly to allow it to line up, I did mine myself.
5) They will probably blame it on rocks and not fix.

I agree with Mod on everything just take it in to dealer and tell them about issues.

that about sums it up....condensation is normal in damp condiotions.....happens on my 03 quite often after washing/heavy rain....a little sun fixes this....ur fine so long as u dont have water inside them
and as for the wheels, they can be repowdercoated and be more durable than stock anyways....or theres always aftermarket wheels
Thanks for your help guys. I went in and got some of the stuff done to my car. They ordered a new C.D. player for me, I got the ECM Calibration done (awesome), I'm gonna get my door aligned, and they are getting me 2 brand new headlights! All in all, it was a good trip!

service is what makes or breaks it for me. I have an Isuzu Rodeo for myself, it had a 3 year bumper to bumper and now it has a 10 year powertrain warranty. My EGR vlalve went bad at 18,000 miles and I had to fight tooth and nail to get it fixed. I had to consent to a $150 diagnostic fee to determine the problem. If the problem was covered, they would waive the fee. What kind of BS is that? Then I had a problem with a tire that wasn't mounted properly and keep leaking air. They told me I had to submit to a (nonrefundable) dunk test to dermine if/where air was leaking, then they fixed it for free, but I still had to pay for the dunk test. I bought Toyota because they make good cars and they know it. I hope that my dealer is reputable and doesn't try to nickel and dime me. My mom bought her Hybrid 6 monhts ago, and I just bought mine last week, same dealership, same salesman. My sister has a 3 year old Camry as well. If Toyota service can fix my problems quickly and without arguing about warranty, they have at least 3 customers for life. Isuzu lost me on customer service, and I will never buy one again.
