I am a tad surprised ....

Yesterday I took my Camry for its first ever oil change ...

The price of the used ones were less around 2K than what they were around in May (When I bought mine). And there were two 2007 LE I4's for 22,999 (Canadian, new they sell around 25,800 I believe) at 33,000 Km's ...

I was surprised tow almost brand new ones sitting on the dealers lot. They can't be rental returns yet right ? The mileage is too low .... I was going to ask my salesman but he wsa too busy. My immediate thought was transmission flare returns ....I thought of trading in my 2004 and see if I could make a deal for one of them but I walked away .... I like the body shape of my car better. Now if they had a reasonable 2005 or 2006 I sure would love to have the 5AT transmission. Does it help with mileage at all ? I hate it when I am going 120 and the engine is almost too loud already .....

The V6 is a sweet engine. Well, as long as you don't have stability control. I haven't even pushed this car at high speeds yet. There's so much sound proofing in these cars, I'm not sure how you hear the engine scream though.

Not at sustained speed ... but as I am speeding up up I can definitely hear it ... WHat bothers me is I am doing 120 and tachometer shows around 3,100 RPM or so ( I hope I remember this correctly). My windstar shows only around 2,500 RPM's at the same speed .. of course it has a 3.8 Liter V6.

I should maybe have said that I do not like the high rpm's at sustanined speeds above 90 km's per hour ..... That's why I was curious about the the 5 speed automatics transmission.

My 07 v6 is turning at about 2500 rpm at that speed.

true,
my '03 tiburon GTv6 costs me more money than my '02 camry le I4 (when i purchased new). I wanted to trade one of them in last year for an infiniti G35 sedan-preferably the tiburon as the coupe thing got boring for me.

for trade-in, they offered me $13,000 for my bone stock camry (told them i'd give it back with stock springs/rims/hubcaps/stereo/etc) and $9000 for my tiburon which even had way less kilometers.

just goes to show that toyotas do hold up way better than other cars. and considering hyundai is not really on the bottom of the quality chain, and even bumping some jap cars out of the way in that category, they won't compare to toyota at resale, i dont think ever.

in conclusion, i decided to hold off on the g35, blow up the tiburon through serious motorly abuse, forget about the g35 which is now overdone IMO, and now i'm seriously considering the lexus is250/350
