5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I've had my 5.5 SE I4 for a few months now and I love it, but recently the keyless entry lock/unlock chirping noise is now just a faint whisper. I've done searches but can't find exactly what caused this or how to adjust it. Any ideas?
Well my ES300 has an adjustable knob under the drivers side dashboard to adjust the "Chirp" volume. I dont know if they put it on the GEN 5 Camrys or not.
Looking at wiring diagrams, Doesn't look like its on the Camry. Maybe the buzzer is just getting weak?

wanna trade? i find mine annoyingly loud, especially as i have to "double click" to open all 4 doors instead of just the drivers door. it even needs a double click to kill the headlights in case i left them on ON instead of Auto.
dealer wants $100 for reprogramming, they can lick my sack, fukkers.

Our Park Avenue came with a Horn Toot when you lock it. I turned that off the very first day.
The 'chirp' I get from the Camry is tolerable so to speak.
I can't stand the Horn Toot though. Stoopid...you can actually hear the doors lock without needing any extra sound. Oh...and the lights go on and off too...so why the NOISE?

yea the manual tells you how to just have the parking lights flash when you lock/unlock.
i actually find the "beep beep" much better than the honk. i come home late at night a lot and if i had the honk, that would piss me off if i was my neighbors lol. you cant even hear the beep when you are inside the house with the doors closed.

I mean seriously. This is what you say? You go to the trouble of posting to begin with, so maybe it takes you like an extra two seconds to actually say where in the manual it is or how to do it.

My paper manual is in the car but i always have one available on line as part of the service manual.
Doesn't get any easier than that, other than just posting forum questions and expect the rest of the forum world to jump thru hoops to answer the questions. The answers are of dubious quality too often.
