what oil to use for a 07 camry and up

i have called many toyota dealerships across the country and i am using past experience in the car business to tell you my recommendations. i recommend using 5W-30 Mobil 1 full synthetic oil. the oil filter that i would use is toyota's oil filter. now you might say oil is oil and filters are filters, i should know, i have been in the car business for 10 years.
yes, a car that i am going to keep for less than 20,000 miles, i put the cheapest oil i can get. for my family members who keep cars 100,000 plus...trust me...you can tell the difference. you can tell the difference with the performance and the "no smoke" issue.
i do recommend 4 cylinder camrys. every once in awhile toyota makes a bad 6 cylinder....can you believe it. stick with the 4 cylinder...cheaper to replace, cheaper to drive...easier on your transmission.

I agree that using a quality synthetic oil is beneficial. So is using a quality oil filter.

I don't agree that you should change oil weights to anything other than what the manufacturer recommends, however.

Welcome to TN. That's an odd first post.

Odd, I thought there was a TSB released allowing the 6-Cyl, or 2GR engines to use 5W-20.
