5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Thats rediculous. Again using examples of 10 accounts on an online forum to start a fuss. When will people realize that Most people only join a forum because they are having a problem. Compared to the number of vehicles sold, the affected amount is barely noticeable. Thats the Torque Converter issue. As the taillgate issue, thats plain BS, of course the tailgate is going to buckle if you drive a big ATV up on it, Yes I agree that most other trucks may be able to hold the weight, but again is not a complete flaw, where in Toyota's ad campaign does it brag about how strong, or how much weight you can apply on the tailgate itself? Toyota uses lighter, and yes most of the time not as strong of material to keep weight of the truck down, and help fuel economy. The tailgate issue is pure abuse.

My Grandpa's F150 did the same rumble strip symptom with between 20 and 30,000 miles on it. I just added some conditioner and then flushed the fluid. That happens to MANY vehicles. It's so common that I knew exactly what it was when I drove his truck and felt it. Having ten concerns, isn't even a concern.
We don't even have the whole story as far as the tailgate concern goes either. No weight was given that caused the failure.
More hype without supporting facts/specifics = no concern at all.
That's why you should not buy the first or second year of any newly designed vehicles, until they worked out the bugs. I still think the Toyota 5.7L is a decent engine, I can't say that about the Tundra Chassis.

I convinced my boss to buy a tundra over a gmc sierra, and he was a big GM guy. He test drove both trucks and ended up going with the tundra. Now im not down scaling the sierra because it is a good truck, but the tundra hauls like no other, 381 horses and you feel it when you floor the gas pedal. He hasnt had a problem with it since he got it. This is autoblogging so you cant really believe everything you read.
I also recommended the Tundra to an uncle that was a loyal GM fan. He is absolutely amazed and is completely satisfied with his purchase in every regard. He owns a seed company (corn and beans mostly) so the truck is actually used like a truck frequently.
I would still not hesitate to recommend a Toyota to my friends and family. If I didn't believe in them, I wouldn't have purchased one myself or have played a part in three family members buying a Toyota for the first time.
i have only heard of good things about the tundra....they sell quite well at the dealer i work for, and i work in inventory so i would know
were ordering them constantly
ive dealt with countless satisfied owners, and they all love the truck....i drive them on a regular basis, and i personally love the truck....if i had the money, id buy a nice black/redrock interior limited doublecab 4x4 limited 5.7
