Gen6 "Silverish" Dash Color Match

I couldn't find a post that actually specifies a color that would match the silverish dash pieces.

I'm looking for a spray paint, to paint pieces to match the dash- I'm not actually painting the dash. Anyone know what brand and color would do a good job?

I tried to match the silver dash in my 05 Highlander and couldn't find a good one (after buying a few different brands/colors). It was rather difficult to judge the final color from the paint cap.

Thanks,
b

Nice topic, if you don't mind me stacking ontop another question regarding dash color and trim kits?

I saw an XLE with the same color dash as the center console, however this piece had CAMRY lazered into it and it sat ontop of the ledge/bezel piece right above the glove box on the passenger side. I think the whole trim kit had other pieces too, just not sure if the color of the trim kit (could be an aluminum brushed kit or something) matched the center console or not. The model I saw it on was on the floor for an XLE07 which looked like it was dealership specific. Had the E&G grille on it as well as other additions noted on the sticker.

Does anyone have any info on that dash kit or specifically just that glove box ledge piece? If so where can I obtain and does it match the factory center console trim color?

Gen6

I should be more specific... I want to paint a black piece of metal, so it's NOT black. I'm not looking for an exact match, but was not able to find even a decent paint color for my Highlander, which had the same color dash color as the Camry (or damn close to it).

I figure Krylon or some other store bought spray paint brand might have been used by someone here. At least hoping someone has.

Thanks again,
b

Gen6 Found something close enough

A couple months back I found paint that was somewhat close to the dash color. I finally got around to taking pictures of my painted iPod mount (a small piece of bent metal). It doesn't match perfectly, but I am happy with the color- it's a lot less conspicuous than black.

For those interested:
Rust-oleum Metallic spray paint; Color- 7271 Silver Metallic

My POV.

Also, I took a shot of the monitor of my cheap wireless backup camera ($90), which works really well for what it is. I have it aimed to show me about the 3 or 4 feet right behind the car- so I don't run over anything/anyone, nor do I have to "feel" my way into a tight spot. The power wire (visible) runs around the window (down the passenger side A-pillar) and goes under the dash under the piece that the clock is on, and plugged into a 3 port cig lighter I put in the glove box (in this case, the power and map box- no gloves).

Good luck and have fun with your projects.
