So that everybody knows.

The JDM gen5 Camry has the same trunk/taillight set up as U.S./Canada. What you are seeing is the Taiwan edition Camry.

There is someone in Japan that has gotten the trunk from Taiwan, but later found out that the Taiwan taillights are also needed to match the lines of the lights in the trunk.

In Taiwan, there's no Avalon or a Crown like in Japan, so the Camry is Toyota's top luxury model. Hence the Taiwan spec Camry has nicer treatment.

The front end was a little different as well with more upright headlights and a different grill.

The interior was a little nicer too with the E model ((like our LE) having woodgrain accents, auto climate control, and a few other things I can't remember...

Wow that rear end makes it look like earlier BMW models!

I mean the shape of the rear lights. See the resemblance?

im honestly trying to figure out why this thread isnt 10 pages long. imo this is the most attractive mod ive ever seen on a gen 5.5 and am very interested in trying to do this. the thing that worries me is the lip on the back of the trunk seems a bit different. i wonder if getting one of these trunks is realistic?? i mean im not gonna be willing to drop 3 grand on importing a damn trunk lid, but i think its a great improvement on the 5.5 exterior which i already think is one of the best camry designs...

SWEET! somebody do this... even if it costs an arm and a leg... that improves the look of the rear end so much.

its simpler if not as simple as converting a honda to jdm front. trunk would be a bolt on affair. some simple electrical wiring and you can hook up the lights.

Has anybody tried to contact a Toyota dealer?

They order parts from Japan all the time. Maybe there's a way to get it through a dealer.

A little bit of cash on the side may help...

I think it looks nice, but wouldn't even consider it due to the cost and effort required.
