Angry Side Auto-Dimming Mirrors on Gen6 Camry = Impossible

I was at my favorite dealer today asking if I could retrofit Toyota Avalon side mirrors on my Camry SE V6 in order to get the auto-dimming function for the exterior mirrors as well.

1) Totally different housing size.
2) Totally different mirror size.
3) About $1000 per side just for parts.

Lexus mirrors won't work either for the same reasons.

So then I got another idea: apply a light blue tint to them because that will at least reduce glare a little. While the color blue helps with glare, it's only useful if the mirror itself has the hue, and NOT from a tint. Apparently with a tint on the mirror itself, I wouldn't see shit at night since I already have window tint.

So for now, I am deeming the idea of auto-dimming side mirrors as impossible to achieve within reasonable costs and effort on the Gen6 Camry.

My only help is that for the Gen6.5 Camry, Toyota will at least offer the driver's side mirror as auto-dimming in an option. Then I could retrofit from that. But until that day...

Yes and I have them on the ML500, but that's not the point. The point was having them on a Gen6 Camry. And that appears to be impossible without custom work.

Interesting...well then VWs, Audis and BMWs are not for you. If you don't get the side auto-dimming mirrors, then you get standard ones that are blue-tinted.

I think there is something about the color blue that I once read about. Back in the day when VW introduced the newer Jetta around the year 1999 or 2000, it had blue backlighting for the instrument panel. And apparently it has been proven to make the driver tired quicker. I don't why, but I remember that conclusion specifically.
