I have this same sound coming from my dash, and I believe this is what is causing it.

Anyone know how this person dismantled the dash to get to this area and how it was fixed?

I have exact problem. It disappeared in the summer and just comes back when it's cold. I wish I got time to bring it back now.

I did it...

You need to make a hook with a paper clip and remove the speaker grill in between the A pillar garnish and the grill, inserting the hook in the gap and then turn it to hook the grill, then just pull up. Remove speaker (be careful no to loose the screws) playing a little bit, turning the speaker around it will come off and then you need to disconnect the wires.
Find the noise and insert some sort of 3M soft foam.
Now let me tell you something, the noise will go away for about 2 days and come back.
I also did the TSB upper/lower windshield tick noise, and nothing.
It will really really help you you have somebody to drive the car so you can identify the noise. Don't put it back togheter before double checking that the noise It's totally gone.
