I just bought new American Racing "Estrella" rims from America's Tire Store. After the 25 mile plus break-in, I went back for the re-torque and told them I had a vibration in the steering wheel at 60 mph+. They checked the balance and re-did all four wheels. When the tech gave me back the car, he said "If that doesn't work, we'll try something else."
Well, the rebalance didn't work. What could "something else" be, and could a wheel be defective in some way? Anyone?

Before you consider the wheels are defective....ask them to install the Hub Centric Rings. Do a search on Hub Centric Rings you'll see my thread about it.

I just got my car back from the dealer today for the same issue. It took them 4 days to fix the problem to there satisfaction. They did 2 4 wheel alignments, 4 road force balances on all 4 tires, indexed the tires to the rims, new lug nuts, oh, and the hub centric rings were already installed. They finally installed a new type of wheel weight. I'll take a picture a post it in a new thread. I don't really like the look of it, because I can see it from the front, but it does work.

Ah, those would really help if you dont have them on

Thank you. I'll check into rings at the dealer.

I wouldn't want to see weights on the front of the rim. It would spoil the look of the polished edge. If hub centric rings don't do the trick, I'll ask for a refund and go back to the stock wheels. The rims look nice, but not worth all the trouble. The stock wheels went up to 90 mph without any vibration.

You can also go with the Lexus GS or IS rims. They are only 18" but will beat any stock rims.

I just installed some 19's last week and had the same exact problem. I had to bring my ride back to the shop for four consecutive days. They installed hubcentric rings, redid my alignment, rotated, balanced, did all 4 wheels, etc, etc and it all didn't seem to work. The last day I took it in they changed out and mounted and balanced my rims on a new set of tires to see if it was the tires that were defective. That seemed to do the trick. No problems whatsoever now.

VERY GOOD POINT!
I had to add those to my American Racing Rims too. They are still a tad 'fussy' but a whole lot better.
I will not buy this brand of rims again though....Live & Learn!
