5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Can the experts out there help me out and tell me what if any in this alignment result might be causing my 07 Camry XLE to follow the road crown severely? Dealer tells me eveything is well within Toyota spec but I can't help but think something in the camber setting or something is making my car follow the read crown badly. I having a hard time believing that my steering has to point to 11 O'Clock position to make my car go straight when traveling on angled (crowned) road!!! Also, why are they using 02 - 06 alignment spec to aligh 07 vehicle? Do they use the same alignment specs? Please help.
Did you ask them why they are using the old specs?

Actually, I just caught that while I was scanning the document for posting.
I'll call them next week and find out why they used 5th gen specs to align my 6 th gen Camry. I suppose it's possible they use the same specs but I'm sure Toyota has 6th gen Camry alignment specs out already.
they can get the specs from etas,if the road is slanted its normal that it will look like the alignment is off,get a flat road and see, also see that all tire pressure is the same,
I've done some extensive reading on wheel alignment and it looks like my less negative (more positive) camber setting on the passinger side might be the cause of the problem.
If the dealer keep insisting on the pull being "normal" then I'm gonna ask them to let me drive another XLE in the lot and see if it does the same thing.
It's so difficult to convince dealers something is not working right unless it's something plainly visible.
I've also got a rattle coming from the dashboard area but I'm not sure if it's from passinger side tweeter assembly area or from behind the radio. I recently had my radio replaced because the face of the unit started to develop strange fading. I knew I was taking a chance of runing into problems like this but it was becoming too unsightly.

it is not normal for the car to pull, things to look for aretire were if yoyr alignment was so bad before you may have messed the tires, also tire pressure, after this they need to fix it,also there is a tsb on ticking noises in the dash, its clips that hold the window in place that need to be removed

I've checked tire pressure, tread wear and they all checked out alright.
The noise only comes out when I hit a road joint or go over a bump on the road. It is pretty loud too. It sounded like plastic hitting plastic.
I remember seeing a TSB on windows clip thing. I'll look for it. Thanks.
It's highly probable that this TSB applis to me due to the fact mine is one of the earlier Japan built ones (04/06)
I'm happy to report that my alignment issue has been resolved and it's driving stright now. They admitted that they should not have used 02-06 Camry alignment specs to perform alignment on my 07 Camry. Their excuse was that they did not have 07 Camry alignment specs on hand and used 20-06 specs instead. I guess the moral of this story is to always double check dealer's work and never assume they know what they're doing.
Here is the link to my correct alignment spec sheet.
Does anyone know what SAI, cross SAI and included angle are? The alignment spec sheet shows these as being well out of factory specifications.
They've also fix the rattle in my driver's door by adding "foam tape to mirror and door panel" but did not fix the rattle coming from the dash. I'm planning on bringing it in next Saturday for this problem again.
