Roadwire oem nav 08 Camry
Just wondering if anyone has unit or heard anything about it or a Eclipse 52d model. Not sure which model the Eclipse is compared to CRUTCHFIELD offers.

this looks very similar to those aftermarket "OEM looking" dvd/Nav units on ebay. They all appear to be the same product but just rebranded a few times. It is not the OEM TOYOTA NAV unit but it has a stock look. There is not much info provided by the link and I would be skeptical on the performance of the navigation system since they don't give any info on the memory type (dvd, hard disk, flash...etc) and also nothing on who provides the mapping (garmin...) probably better off with Eclipse, very reputable brand.
If looks matter than you can get the TOYOTA OEM NAV unit from OEMVALUE . COM but I heard that the installation is a little bit complicated.
The Roadwire headunit is basically a Valor, just like the ones OE Radio sells. JSers1 bought one and he seems to like it, so if you have a Camry without the JBL system it might be a nice alternative to the Eclipses, Pioneers and Kenwoods.
The Nav unit is a seperate box which uses flash memory. I'm not a fan of it (I think it looks a bit cartoonish) but if it tells you where you need to go then I guess that's all one really needs.
thanks, I will probably go the eclipse route just wish I knew which model the 52d they offer compares to similar model such as Crutchfield and local dealers offer. ECLIPSE 5510,6610 and up.. All they tell is the bluetooth is built in unit and couple other specs. I knew the 5510 and 6610 has bluetooth build in.
Where I bought the car they offer a 15% discount on parts and labor they install. Price quoted was $ 1700.00 installed.
The AVN52D is identical to the AVN5510, although the 52D comes with a 3yr warranty vs 1yr on the 5510. The naming/warranty difference exists to reduce price competition between dealer install and aftermarket retail markets.

I really want to go with this product, i've been looking at it ever since we saw it pop up on ebay. Indeed it does look like the valor model just rebranded. The backlit basically is the seller for me as I've seen one of our members who has it installed have it look not as nice as I thought it'd be. The buttons are not back lit like the OEM versions are. I already have a garmin portable nav which I love so I'm basically looking for the dvd player w/inputs, back up camera, and BT. I don't need the nav and really want to retain the factory look with button placement and steering wheel controls.
I'd go with this unit if the backlit was identical to OEM and just not use the nav since my portable unit is more then sufficient!
I spoke with the dealer about this product and he said yes its got the oem look but not to sure about the nav features. I will probably go the Eclipse 52d route which is the Avn 5510/with Bluetooth . Dealer says they will install for $1700.00 with 36month/36,000 mile warranty. Crutchfield has it for $1449.
