I have an 07 le camry. whenever i open the door using the key, placing the key in the hole and turning, i open the door and the alarm goes off. but when i use the keyless entry, as i usually do, it doesnt go off. Does anybody know why this happens?
yea its a stock alarm, let me rephrase that. when i open the door by placing the key in the door, the alarm goes off. that means i cant use the back up key(no remote on it) at all. dont understand why.
disarm the security system? im not sure of how many types of keys(main, spare, valet?) toyota gives for the new camry's but i would imagine if its the valet key there would be a way to disarm the system. gen 6ers what ya got?
thats curious. our camry came with factory alarm and when i use the key (main or valet) my alarm usually disarms and alarm wont go off on. what kind of alarm do you have?
i dont know if this helps, on my 1996 camry with the factory alarm does this as well. i think to disable the alarm with the key, put the key into the ignition and turn it from off to ACC three times (i seem to recall) and that should turn off the alarm.
Seems as if the switch for the alarm in the latch is faulty.
