Well I've been reading about the 07's with the tranny/ECM problem.I own an 08(build date 8/07) & I too have been having the tranny lag,2-3k RPM revs to get to 2nd gear & the slow pedal response.I called the dealer & made the appointment for 9;15am,so I will be there with the TSB in hand just in case they want to act dumb.I'll let everyone know how it went after work b/c I dont have access to the internet ...wish me luck!
True but it doesn't hurt to have them look at it.I have the same symptoms as the 07's were having. The TSB was update for vehicles built 8/07 & b4,mine was built in 8/07 so we'll see what they say.

Theres no way you're having 2K-3K RPM flares, do you mean thats when it's happening, between that RPM range?
i think he meant that the camry shifts to 2nd gear from first at 2000-3000 rpms.. He must be stepping on the gas pedal hard then..
Sorry for the late response but just got home from work(12:30am).I have the I4,sticker on the door jam only states the month & year of build.Lets say for instance when getting on the hiway I punch it(not flooring it either) b/c that's what u do normally(if traffic allows)so to blend with the traffic flow. When I do that there's seem to be a hesitation, like she's not getting gas.All of a sudden the tach would jump to about 2500RPM's go back to 2000RPM's then 2nd gear would engage then 3rd & so on.The problem seems to be between 1st & 2nd gear. Also I noticed that down shifting would be slow from 2nd back to 1st gear, feels as though it just wants to stay in 2nd & not back to 1st but eventually it does. The other day I was going up a slight enbankment when I took my foot off the pedal to brake it felt like I just put it in neutral.Anyways I described the symptoms the best I could, later this morning I'll find out what's the deal.

UPDATE: I took the car in this morning, according to the service guy the tech found that there was a slight hesitation in acceleration.I was told the tech reset the ECU & that the vehicle is operating normal according to Toyota specs. The one statement the service guy said that made me laugh inside was..."The car(computer) has to learn the habits of the driver which normally takes place around 1k-1.5k miles".I told him that I've never heard of such a thing then mentions how there's no throttle cable anymore & the fuel distribution is totally controlled by the computer.Anyways whether it's BS he was feeding or not I got in my car drove home. While driving home I did notice the diffrence in the acceleration not the lag I was getting when going for gas while entering the hi-way.The service guy also mentioned that there is NO TSB for the 08's.
