Well I live in the state of Maryland in Prince George's County. I have 15% tint all-around except for the windshield of course. Knock on wood, the really Nazi-Cops in this area haven't bothered me. I am surrounded by cops all the time. I live around the corner from a police substation. One time I was at a light and I had a cop car on all four sides of me. They just went about their business.

Cops also have little traps in the area around my residence. They hide on a side street so they can catch people who don't come to a complete stop at the STOP. This happened one day when it was grey and dreary outside. When that happens I might as well have 5% tint. I pulled up to the stop sign, looked both way, I'm sure the cop saw my car, and I kept going and the cop stayed in position.

Most cops in suburban Maryland seem to be nonchalant about the tint laws. Maryland is the richest state in the union and because of this, everyone drives a nice car almost. So many people tint their cars that I don't think cops can really enforce the law. Well, that and the fact that they tint their cars illegally too lol. One of my friends is DC police officer and she put 20% on her BMW 3.

But I think it also depends on what you drive and how "pimped" your car is. A person who resides in my apartment saw me at my car one day. She came up to me and she told me that she always wondered who my car belonged to. She wanted to know what percentage of tint I had. I told her 15 and she couldn't believe it. She asked me did cops hastle me and I told her never. She said she had 20% on her old car (which was an old piece of ****) and she got pulled over near the University of Maryland which is only minutes from where we live and she got a ticket for her tint. I told her I drive through there all the time and never had any problems.

So I think there are a lot of variables. Anyway, here is a pic of my car.

cops sometimes can/will pull you over for just tints....check whats legal in your state and stick to it

I got pulled over in of all places, Disney World, for speeding and the cop checked mytint (20% All around). He told me they were illegal and i acted reallllllllly dumb. I got the speeding ticket, and a pamphlet about window tints that i have never come close to opening.
