2005 I-4 5-A Transmission Noise

Since day one my 2005 Camry LE I-4 5-A makes a noise which appears to come from the transmission:

After starting the car and driving away, the first time I reach 1600 rpms, I hear a noise that sounds the same as that of a car door closing, a "thumping" sound (no its not the doors locking). Once the car is running and I come to a stop, the thumping noise does not happen again, even if I go from standing still and pass ~1600 rpms, the noise does not appear again.

The car rides wonderful and I do get 34 mpg highway. I have 37,000 miles

Should I be concerned?

That may indeed be what's being experienced, and sounds like it.
