08 V6 Camry made in Japan

Hello, anybody get an 07/08 Camry V6 that was assembled in JAPAN.

My 07 Camry CE I4 was assembled in Japan.

I would like to trade it in for an 08 Camry LE V6 if I could get one Made in Japan.

And wait for a manufacter date after January 08 in the hopes of more bugs being worked out.

The 07 Camry I now have has has the TSb done for the shifting, but it really needs a manual shift to harness the 4cyl power range The Car is just confused on what gear to be in when I slow from 30-35 down to 20-25 and then want to step on it. As in slowing down for someone turning left and moving over to the right and slowing down till they turn. Or the freeway on ramp when you see an opertunity to get up to merging speed and it can not find the right engine revolution and gear to be in to go!!!!!!!

Had the Car three months and 3000 miles, if I am completely relaxed say after a long hike and just glad to be cruising, the 4cyl is fine, but it is not a drivers car.

I also still have and am the original owner of a Made in Japan 1998 Camry V6 LE with trd strut/spring package and plus one tire sizing. It has 281,000 trouble free miles and is more fun to drive than the new 07 Camry.

It is my opinion that Kentucky and Indiana built Camry's will have more problems.

...that's probably been worked out already, since my 05/07 build Camry w/ 5k has NO engineering defects or any problems in the tranny.

I think I read somewhere that with the addition of production capacity at Subaru Indiana there would be no further Camrys imported, but I could well be mistaken. Someone add to this?

When I was purchasing the 08 LE V6 I requested a Japan assembled Camry just for the novelty of having an import that was actually imported, but that was my only motivation.

I had my 07 LE I4 for 1.5 years. It was assembled in Kentucky and there wasn't a rattle to be heard (except for a vibration from the seat belt reel on exceedingly rough roads), loose panel to be seen, or any mechanical issues needing repair. The only thing I had done to it was the TSB's for the shifting hesitiation. It was exactly what I expect from Toyota quality.

Now, I've got the 08 Camry LE V6 and it is also assembled in the States and is very much a quality product like my last. Granted, I've had it less than a week, but I have every confidence it will be as good a car as my I4 was.

But, when it comes down to it you have to be comfortable with your purchase and if you're not comfortable with one assembled in the States then just ask the dealer if they're able to get one from Japan.
