Gen6 Relay Harness? HIDs

I know everyone says its best to use a relay harness with an hid kit.

The dealer I got my Apexcone HID Race Kit says that the startup draw is very low and i do not need a relay harness. Input from anyone? Thanks!

"Want even more output? Step up to Apexcone Race, featuring 55 watt HID ballasts offering up to 40% more brightness than 35 watt HID kits! Special circuitry provides low startup current draw (6 amps) negating the need for additional relay harnesses in most fitments. Due to its intense light output, Apexcone Race is not recommended for non-projector headlights or foglights."

You wanna trust them? Have them send you a written guarantee that if something fails on your car due to the lack of a relay harness that they will pay for all repairs.

i seriously doubt their claims on 6 amp startup draws... not to mention they are 55w kits. as for the relay harness, better safe than sorry! its not like it takes all that much more time to install a relay harness...

Please just do what I did and others before you. Go to HIDPlanet.com and learn about HID as much as you can. It will all make sense after you take HID 101 course.

Well some say it's not required, but from my experiences I'd say otherwise.

After retrofitting my TSX projectors, every once in a while, the HIDs turn on with only one light bulb on, that happened in about 1 out of every 5 times I used the HIDs.

Then I purchased a wiring harness.

Problem solved.

I've used both, a cheap eBay kit with no relay harness and a more expensive one from XenonDepot with a relay harness. When I used the one without, the majority of the time only one of the bulbs would actually come on, and I would have to turn them off and back on quickly in order to do so. I dont know if that was just a faulty ballast, or because it was attempting to draw too much power.

Either way, just install it right the first time.

Make yourself one...tis much cleaner and more OEM'ish. I would recommend using a relay harness...if you are the least bit worried or unsure then just use it.
