Oh my. Unbelievable. Another human being on the planet noticed this!
I have gone through a rather unbelievable amount of work with an upholstery shop trying to get some kind of comfort out of the seat cushion, but I still haven't gotten there.
There are three main "problems" with the seat:
1. That DAMN SEAM DOWN THE MIDDLE. Absolutely, completely EVIL. Note especially how it "curves down" at the back of the cushion -- that "curve" is even stiffer than hell.
2. Now then, reach down, and feel the very back of the seat cushion, directly in front of the seat back. Notice a couple of "hard bumps," one on each side of the evil center seam? Those are essentially part of the "wiring harness" for the seat heater -- part of how the wire that plugs into the car's electrics gets wired into the seat heater. More evil bumpiness.
3. Also, the seat is just dang hard and firm, which doesn't help.
I don't have the time tonight to go into more detail, but I've certainly not found anything that worked quite well enough by doing some even substantial changes to the seat cushion with the upholstery shop. I think the best solution without going ballistic is just to go for an aftermarket seat cushion, and I would recommend the following:
1. The Gel-Tec Contour Cushion:

The only "problem" with this is that it doesn't cover all the seat, but perhaps doing that wouldn't be so good, either. It's just that your legs will "drop off" the front of the thing. Otherwise, this is one of the best you can get, as you sit "floating on air that's trapped in the baffles" of the gel cushion. You can find cheaper, similar things, but this is a far better quality cushion.
2. 100% Natural Sheepskin Seat Pad:

I haven't tried this one, but it looks good to me. It's big enough to cover almost the whole seat, and it should be thick enough to cushion you away from the evil bumpiness of the Camry seat.
I'll get back in here later with some more information, but that's how I'd call things at this point -- good luck!
