So how much does it really cost to install lowering springs on 05 camry. I am not going to the dealer again cuz they charge me 170 for install on FTB while I got 45 for the install at Firestone. So whats the typical cost of installing lowering springs?? the dealer says 500+ including mount and balance and alignment
you may want to try sears. they are doing mine for 600 even. thats springs, install and alignment. which isnt too bad at all.
I think $600 is a little high.
Springs --> $220 online ship to your door or any local shop including Sears. A member Woodman411 is selling his kit for $150 IIRC. NIB TRD springs Gen 5 - Gen 6, San Diego area (or Orange County/LA)
Labor + Alignment --> Around $250 to $300.
So you can still save around $100. I would go to those local shop that specialize in Alignment and ask for a quote.

+1
I got mine installed for 220 + tax and the springs from TireRack.com for 209, plus shipping..So total was around 450 installed and i forget how much the alignment was.
Most places base it on the average labor time of 4 hours or so (IIRC), so basically they will all quote you the same amount of time, it just depends on how much each shop charges for labor, and if they will only charge you for the time it takes. So for instance if it only takes a shop 2 hours, they should only charge for 2 hours, unlike the dealer however who most likely will charge you the quoted price, even if it took less time.
the cost of modding a car in any fashion will be cheaper in southern california. I use to live around SGV, everything there is cheap -- pricing and product purchasing. SF it's almost 2 times the amount.
Though it is generalizing and there is exceptions to every rule... it's just insane how much difference there is in the prices.

Book time actually calls for 1.8 hours for the front springs, and 2.3 for the rears.
