5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I have an 07 SE with 3000 miles. I love it, but the driver's side automatic (one touch) window only works going down. I liked my Passat's automatic windows, and I was dissapointed that the window only works automatically going down. However, in the owner's manual it alludes to the driver's side window working automatically in both directions (up and down). So, I called my dealer who said it should work in both directions, but when I took it in my service rep said it only should work going down.
So, to the question: Those of you that have the automatic window option, does it work in both directions? For some reason, the inconsistency makes me hesitant to trust the dealer. I appreciate any feedback.
Only down. I really don't see why Toyota didn't implement automatic window up and down for all 4 windows. What would that do for the price? $100 more?! Would have been well worth it.

The Camry only has Auto Down for the drivers window. My ES300 windows are auto Up/Down on all 4 windows.

Thanks for the feedback. It's pretty disappointing to have a relatively nice car without such a simple feature. Auto down w/o the up feature is kind of useless, but I'm sure I'll live. Thanks again for the responses.
Apologies for not making myself clear about whos car was in question when the original poster was asking if there is something wrong with their car.
Listen, We all know you do have useful info. However, if you cannot offer your answers in a more polite, and in a way that isn't rude, or putting down someone for not "Reading their manual" then dont post in a thread. That is considered Post Whoring and is not acceptable. Rather than taking your time to type in a response that directs them somewhere else, be a bigger man and give the answer. If someone gives innaccurate info, dont call "BS", or basically tell them they are an idiot, Simply tell them that the info they have is incorrect, and provide the correct info. And lastly, im sure im not the only one getting sick of every single one of your posts ending with multiple exclamation points.

This is probably old news to you guys, but I just found out that after taking your keys off the ignition you would still be able to roll your windows up/down for a few seconds. Maybe it was design that way just in case you forgot to roll your windows up after turning off the engine. Dang!! my Honda minivan does that too!!
