What's this noise?

Whenever I slam on the brakes, I can hear/feel a grinding noise/feedback underneath the brake pedal. Anybody else experience this? This happens on dry or icy roads. On icy roads, you can also hear the skidding sound of the tires. Should I have it checked?

It's probably normal ABS noise.

Dont drive so fast or close to others to where you would have to have a panic stop drastic enough to activate ABS. Only time ABS ever activates in any car ive driven was in snow. Just a tip.

i've gotten the same vibration in the pedals when driving on ice. engage the brake as the car begins to slide, the brake pedal vibrates. same would go for 'slamming on the brake' regularly. ABS!

Sounds like a case of "take your time to learn how to drive the car." Please tell me you aren't one of those tailgating idiots that has to slam on his brakes every time to stop cuz he's too damn close. If so, shame on you.
