5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Earlier tonight I was driving home after the movie with my wife and kids. Suddently the cop's car light were flashing behind my car, so I slow down then pulled over. While we were waiting for the cop to walk to my car, I asked my wife "What do you think I did wrong? I wasn't speeding nor rolling a stop?" When the cop got to my window, after looking at my driver license, car insurance and registration he said "You made a right turn without using your turn signal but I'm gonna give you a verbal warning only. So don't do it again." I politely said "Thank you, Officer".
He then went on saying his wife drives a same car and started asking me where and how I got all my mods. So I walked out of the car and showed him from the front to the rear of the car and he took note and asked for my email address for future reference. I guessed I just had new a "friend".
Afterward my wife said "Did he just stopped you for that?"
So the question is "Can cops give you a ticket for not using Turn Signal? If so, have you ever heared anyone had a ticket as a result of not using Turn Signal?"

in your situation, i'd say he stopped you just to look at your car. Cops can give you a ticket for not using your turn signal. They just say it's just reckless endangerment. My dad got a ticket like that once, so did I. Though I contested it in court and the guy wasn't there so I got that case dismissed.

Funny thing is I too was pulled over for the same thing a week ago (I know I used my signal but he said I didn't) and I too was let off with a warning.
I guess when it comes down to the legality of the issue they can ticket you.

Wow, thanks for letting me know. I'm glad he didn't give me a ticket then...he can check my car out as long as he wants. Maybe I'll keep in touch with him so he can clear my "Tinted windows" in the future.

F***********ck yeah you can get a ticket for not using a turn signal. When I was 18, I got pulled over for not using my turn signal on the freeway. Well, I was young and dumb and forgot about the ticket. 7 years later, I go to check my record, and low and behold what do I find??
An unpaid ticket for "unsafe lane change" (failure to use blinker)...since it went unpaid for 7 yrs, it cost me $640 big ones....
That's cool you made a new buddy though. Cops can sometimes be the best one's to have, if you know what i mean.

I have never gotten a ticket for not using turn signals. Then again I get lucky, theres never a cop around when I do something retarded, mainly by accident.

I'm sorry if I sound condescending, but how in the hell can you "forget" that you got a ticket for something as lame as not using your turn signals to switch lanes?
I remember when I got my first and only ticket a few years ago for doing an "unsafe start". Basically I was at a T intersection and I looked both ways and saw that the oncoming cars were hella far away and I could have made the right turn, but I didn't take into account that a cop was coming my way and he was hella speeding. I made the right turn and he was right up on my ass, so I couldn't directly see his headlights anymore. That's how close he was. He then has the gall to pull me over and tickets me for pulling out right in front of him and making him slam on his brakes. I was hella pissed at this injustice but I tried to not let it show until I drove off again.
Then I went to traffic school and had it written off so my record is still clean until this day.

Personally, I hate people who don't use signals. It's a hazard and it pisses the hell out of everyone when people cut each other off. I use my signal every chance I can get so that people driving behind me know exactly where I'm going and don't hit me. Is it seriously that hard to flick the lever up and down? I guess people are just lazy or think it's cool not to signal and weave in and out of traffic like an ass. Sorry, short rant.
i always have this question in mind,
It is illegal to not using your turn signal when you're in a turn only lane,b/c it is very clear that you're gonna turn ya know

LOL Only when making U-turns and at stop signs and lights.
