ok, so i bought some low beam 6000k bulbs for my car (the really cheap ones off ebay) and the passenger side went out the first night. it was dark when this happened and i pulled into a walmart parking lot so i could replace it with my stock bulb i had in the trunk. once i popped the hood and touched the harness, the light went back on and worked perfectly fine so i thought it was just loose conection since these were aftermarket bulbs. this would happen a couple more times over the next 2 weeks and all i had to do was "jiggle" the wire and it would go on. after 2 weeks, the trick didn't work anymore. i popped my hood open the next day and look what happened:
i called toyota to see the price on the plug only but they only sell it with the harness and cost was 1300!!!! i then checked autozone and got a pair of aftermarket plugs and only costed thirteen dollars. i spliced and soldered the connection but cant get the passenger side to work still. i spliced it to the neighboring high beam just to see if i did my splicing correctly and it worked just fine, but it wouldn't work when i spliced it to the low beams. my friends told me that i "fried" the entire harness and it lost its conductivity, is this possible? can the copper wireness be fried to the point the it looses its conductivity? HELP?!!?
Did you end up buying those "100W" bulbs from eBay?
they're 55w bulbs. jus for now, i'm thinkin of unpluggin all my high beams so i could splice my low beams on the passenger side and use it that way. does anyone know if this will further harm my car?
also, the guy at autozone said that it might have happened because of corrosion and recommended that i seal the connection with bulb grease to better seal it
Holy Fuk! Now I'm definitely reconsidering on removing those cheap ass yellow bulb kit from my fog lights. Good luck with geting it fixed and let us know when you do.

This is why you should use a heavy duty harness with aftermarket bulbs, and a relay harness with HID kits.

If you bought an aftermarket foglight kit, it should have came with a harness/wiring...
Sucks that it fused... As for the comment about the 100w bulbs-- those are actually 50w each, which means you lose 5w of lumen (not to mention you put in 6000k).
