Glove Compartment on 02 camry

Just got my camry this morning and already I messed something up. I locked the glove compartment with the key just to see how that works, now i'm trying to open it with the key and it won't open. Is there a trick to opening it or do you think its broken. Thanks

It should turn with the key unless you are using the spare key, but you shouldn't have been able to lock it with the spare.

I doubt they gave him just a valet key, if so, he shouldnt have been able to lock it. They holding pressure on the door, and turning the key at the same time.

The glove box lock cylinder is probably faulty.

I can't remember.

You should get a spare key cut and see if it will work first. You should have a spare anyways.
