5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
This is my first post in the TN forum. I have been driving a Euro Sports Coupe for years and have decided to add a sedan.
After lots of research how can anyone go wrong with a Camry? I love the look of the new Camry. (Liked the style of the last one as well) I will be purchasing a TCH. Here are some specific questions regarding your setups:
flopshot - Since you have a TCH, did you find any problems with 235/50ZR18 tires. I don't think this is the factory spec from Lexus. (looks nice though)
Eyekutr - Love the color white. (the TCH will be either silver or black)
lammydi - Your car is ballin. I noticed that you both have exterior door trim.
Is this Lexus OEM door trim? After Market?
Is the GS 430 a lot larger than the Camry?
Group question: It makes me a bit nervous to get a wider tire. Have you noticed any performance differences versus stock.
Where did you purchase your wheels and tires? (Looking OEM color and factory take offs)
Looking forward to posting future photos.
Best Regards,
Studio17
Thanks for the compliments, my camry has stock 16 XLE rims off Gen 5. My GS300 has the gs430 rims, and the setup feels much better than the stock 225 55 17s. I get chrome GS (chrome any lexus wheel for that matter) and sell them here and there once in a while.
So long as you stay to the same circumference, +/- less than 3%, you will be safe. Wider can cause a slight decrease in mpg, but also helps add stability, especially with lower profile tires.
As for the GS being larger than the camry, in all honesty, I feel like the camry has more interior space and overall size is about the same

I have to add, my camry is nothing to brag about...base LE, BSM, Gen 5 XLE rims, dimming mirror and that's it. I bought it for my dad who beats it up pretty good, 16k miles since jan
Since you mentioned, here are a few pics of the GS, thumblinks so I wont hog up the bandwidth...

I did the ultimate noob thing yesterday. When you look at lammydi's ride you will notice door trim and 18" rims. After more browsing I saw Eyekutr's signature... I ASSUMED that the car pictured in the sig was a Camry (you know being a Camry forum and all) You have two sweet rides! White Camry's have so much potential.
Setup:
TCH (Canada, so I will be raped for prices, extra $5K)
Silver
Leather Package
Light Tint Side and Rear
Black all weather rubber mats
First Aid Kit
Fog Lights
Rear Sport Spoiler
Rims
Clear Front Corners (if available)
have you all forgotten about moky? I think his ride is the best looking
