will a 50mm offset fit a 5.5?

im wondering if wheels that are 18x7.5 with a 50 offset will fit my car. im a little confused by offsets but from what i understand it is in relationship of the lug nuts and the center of the wheel. ive just really not seen many wheels with a 50mm offset and was wondering if this would be ok?

The higher the offset the more inside the wheel well they will be. I would go to a website where you can search for wheels that will fit your lug pattern.

I don't know about higher the offset.

I know that you have to measure from the center of the mount.

If your offset is +XXmm from the center it'll push out towards the outside of the car.

If your offset is -XXmm from the center, it'll be pushed in towards the inside of the car.

At lease this is what I learned about offsets.
