215 70R15 winter tires

I have an opportunity to get 215 70R15 winter tires on toyota rims that were on a sienna. The bolt pattern is the same so can I put these on my 2002 camry xle v6. My stock tires are 215 60R16 and the base camry uses 205 65R15. Would there be problems with handling, etc.?

Thanks for you input

you'll be fine, just make sure they fit correctly around the calipers...Toyota told me they couldn't fit 15's on mine..but then i found out the base models come with 15's so they either were mistaken, or screwed me out of a few more bucks.

But they should fit.

My stock tires are 215 60R16...
As a matter of fact, 15’’ rims require 215 65R15 tires to be equivalent to your stock tires 215 60R16.
Diameter of your non-stock tires is 2.6% too high…
I know a case where 3.7% difference made car feel completely different.

That would definitely not work on a Gen6 Camry. 15s really would not fit over the calipers.

Looking at the link and the different dimensions of various tire sizes, a base camry with 205 65R15 are 2.5% smaller diameter than my stock 215 60R16 and the 215 70R15 I'm looking at are 2.6% larger diameter (as kolkh posted) than my stock 16's. It doesn't seem like a big difference. My gut says they should be OK. Comments?

update on the 15" tires. 15" rims will not fit over the calipers on my 2002 xle v6 even though the parts people and the tire store said they would. The xle has larger brakes. so 16" winter tires are on.
