Leaking rear window 08 Camry SE

Just got my 08 Camry SE out of the shop because it had a leak somewhere around the back window. I realized it was leaking after I washed the car and then got in the back seat and it was wet. Apparently they had to remove the glass and reseal it. The dealer assures me that this is not a known problem and that there is no damage to my upolstery. Just wondering if anyone else has run into this problem with their Camry.

I dont think its a common problem. I've never heard of it before.

Never heard of this being a common problem on the Camry. Your story is the first I heard I've heard.

I have no comment on the seats. But if you're worried about how well the rear window was re-sealed, I assure you there will be no problem there.

In the spring of 2007, my car needed a new roof, sunroof rails, headliner, hood, etc. So the body shop had to take off both my windshield and rear glass. The stuff was put back perfectly. I've probably done over 50 car washes and been in several torrential rain storms. No leak, no problems. No wind whistling either.

never heard of this one before on a camry....my moms solara convertable trickles a tad bit of water around the top seals in carwashes, but not enough to really notice....its a convertable tho, they leak like crazy
as for your situation, the window seals/weatherstripping may have been the cause....hopefully the dealer resolved the issue
