Question Sunglass Holder in Place of Garage Door Opener Holder

I'd like to store my sunglasses in the little holder, above the windshield, where the garage-door opener is usually kept.

I seem to remember seeing one of these doors on another Camry some time ago (my car is in my signature).

Does anyone have any idea where I could find something like this?

TIA!

When I bought my 99 new it came in the glove box and just swapped out. I imagine you can find it as an obscure part at the dealer.

GD,

Yeah, I must have lost mine over the years. I heard that they wanted fifty bucks for this part!

Maybe I can find one at the junkyard.....those things are nifty little items, really!

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.

Now you'rejust looking or listening for problems since you hate Toyota and your Camry so much

Opposite problem. My 08 LE has a place for sunglasses, but I would rather have my garage door opener there. Like my 99 LE did. Anyone know of an adapter?

I have a 2001 with the sunglasses holder and want the door opener module. The owners manual shows how to swap it out. Did your '99 come with both? Or was one an optional purchase?

The 99 LE came with both. As I remember, the sunglass holder snapped into the cavity.

Thanks for the info. I bought my car used and it didn't come with the garage door unit. Time to go hunting at the wreckers.

A 1 year old thread...
Any word on the availability on these?
The spring on my sunglasses holder popped and fell out, now when I push the release lever, it flys open instead of slowly retracting open. Not a big deal but if its an easy fix, I would like to do it.
