Push key is flakey?

My father purchased his 2k7 Camry XLE May 2007. This morning he was unable to open the car or start the car. He placed the keyfob against the push key and it started up. He was able to reproduce this several times, but the problem seemed intermittant. Any ideas?

Have you checked the battery in the keyfob? It might be low/weak...

He said it happens on both keyfobs and the cars build date was feb 07. Do you really think it could be that?

If so how do you recharge it or does it require new batteries?

Sorry, I don't have the keyfob in front of me and it's a little hike to go to the parents house.

I believe it's in the user manual....you have to open up the keyfob and replace the battery.

How could lithium batteries go bad within 7 months on two keyfobs, one of which is hardly ever used?
