Gen5 Need Some Advice on Rotors

My current rotors are warped, so I am in search of a new set. I can't decide between O.E. Replacement Brembo Rotors which would run $34 each or Power Slot Slotted Rotors which would be $93 each. Are slotted rotors worth the extra money or are they bascially just for looks? Which ones should I go for?

you don't need to put the "just my opinion"

cross drill/slotted are mainly for looks. unless you are pushing your brakes to the limit they are not necessary. save some money, get better pads

If they aren't too worn or warped, you can probably have them cut for about $6 ea.

Otherwise, like others, Brmbo plainface rotors, or OE Toyota, should be fine. Just get which ever costs less.

So I got my rotors today and I'll called a shop where I was going to have installed. The mechanic told me that I should get new pads with the new rotors. Should I? I recently replaced my pads with Akebono Ceramic Pads about 6-8 months ago. Do I really need new ones again?

The reason they are probably telling you to get new pads is because your old rotors were warped so it probably caused uneven brake pad wear

it should be replace rotor per every 2 pad change but there is also the minimal thickness for the rotor to consider

If it wasnt too long i wouldnt worry about it. But if you want to and you have the money than why not. Personally i wouldnt. But it also depends on the life left on the pads. For sure i wouldnt if it was the rears.

Yes, I got them from tirerack. Came to $83 and change including shipping. I might need to buy another set of Akebono brake pads though so I might end up spending another $50 on brake pads now.
