Canada Premium Fuel for 07 Camry V6

I heard from someone that using 94 octane fuel in these cars will get much better gas mileage. Is this true?

I guess it would be best to give it a test and see. Do the math aginst the cost of the fuel as to milage gain. I know my Mercedes would not run on regular unleded it had to have preamium fuel. It also got very good mileage.
A gallon here in New Mexico is $3.40 higer than any place else in the states so I don't know if I would save or not. I am willing to test it and see.

I tried that the first 2 weeks I had the car, and I didn't see the difference. Therefore I don't see the point in paying more for fuel other than to feel better about yourself in some way.

Rule of thumb: Use the fuel the manufacturer suggests.

It makes a difference in performance, but every day driving you wont notice it. Since i bought my car i been filling it up with 89. Toyota engines are made to be run with 87.

Since we have a higher altitude here in Colorado, we have 85, 87, and 91. I usually use 87 unless 91 is under $3.

Read your owner's manual. If the owner's manual says to use 87 octane fuel in your V6 engine, you will not experience any increase in fuel mileage using higher octane fuel. You will however, be helping to increase the profit margins of the oil companies.

We don't even have a choice in HK, all gas stations are selling 98 at an extremely expensive price ..

OMG not another one of these threads

octane is not for better performance or better gas mileage

octance is the fuels resistance to detonation/knock whatever you want to call it

I usually use 87 and only use 91 once a month, see no differences..

The first 4 months of having the vehicle, I did 91 all the time, but damn getting expensive to keep up.

It'll add 4hp/6tq. Gas mileage will increase slightly, but not enough to overcome the price difference between 87 and 91+. This engine was actually designed to run off of premium and the ECM will advance the timing after 1-3 tankfulls to utilize the extra performance. Toyota in it's infinite wisdom decided to retune the ECM and retard the timing to work for 87.

Gas mileage

In the gen 5 manual that came with the car, near the back it say something about all test done with 106 octane gas*

When I fill up with 89 octane gas I get the best mileage 460 in the city ATL 525 highway.

with 87 octane 328/390 city/highway

with 91 octane about the same as 89 with better performance

no, mercedes and the higher end car can adapt to the change in octane. power will be restricted but it will work. looks like you don't know mercedes
