5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
The deed is done, I traded in my four month old 07 Camry CE 4cyl for a
08 Camry SE V6. I picked white with ash. It has JBL radio; Rear Spoiler,
Moon Roof; Mat set; Bumper applique; Wheel locks.
I paid 17,488 not including tax and license for the 07 Camry CE 4cyl
and 26,046 not including tax and license for the 08 Camry SE V6.
The Dealer gave me 16,000 for the trade in with 5000 miles on it.
I calculate I paid 1300 over invoice for the 08 V6 SE.
So I ate about 3000 loss on the purchase and trade in of the 07 taking into account tax and license.
Plus the mark up over invoice of 1300 for the 08.
ouch! ouch!
But I needed more of a thrill in my life than just basic reliable transportation.
That's a bummer you feel that way. It should be a happy time. I'm 2 weeks into my trade-up from my 07 I4 to 08 V6 and still grinning ear to ear when driving it.
ok then, how about a KICK ASS top of the line home theater set up? no? ok then, how bout a 4 wheeler! or a jet ski! or a white leopard coat with bald eagle on the inside!!

Listen the 4cyl does not cut it, if you like it stay the f out of my way , and stay in the slow lane.
I made a mistake in getting the 4cyl, and am paying for it. I plan on driving this SE into the ground, my other car is a 1998 Camry V6 LE, original owner, 282,000 miles,
TRD springs/struts and +1 tires.
My old car was more fun to drive than the 07 4cyl.
OMG I'm in th same position as you OP. I am starting to hate my 4 banger, especially after seeing a dual exhaust pass me by on the freeway. Last time I was in a Nissan trying to trade mine for an Altima, they quoted me for 18k on my barely new Camry. Did you have to give a down payment on yours?

What - you mean like a 4th hand Honda Civic from the 1980s complete home-done purple tint that has bubbles, and a fartcan?
i dunno.....honda has a good resale value so it might have to be 5th hand
if 3k is worth it for the thrill than its well worth it. personally it wouldn't be worth it to me and would have gone a different route but to each their own
