5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Canada, BC, 2007 Toyota Camry, Price, rebates? incentives?
Dear TN members,
After seeing some amazing modded Camrys online I will be purchasing another new Toyota Camry.
There is some great information on this forum for my fellow American buyers. There is an entire thread about how much people paid for their cars / which dealership / cost of extra options / special finance and lease rates.
After extensive searching using the words: Canada, price, dealer, incentives, rebates, etc. I could find no threads relating to Camry prices for Canadians. After doing some googling: there was mention of below invoice, hidden invoice / dealer rebates... blah blah blah
(I have purchased 5 new vehicles in my lifetime so I am very familiar with the buying process. I have excellent credit as well.) Unfortunately I have probably paid way to much for each of those cars.
There was some ad on the radio about special finance rates and special prices on 2007 models. I know it is a good time to buy!
The only must have for the car are:
- Camry Hybrid or Camry 4cyl Base Model
- Automatic
- Silver or Black Exterior & Leather (don't know if this will affect anything)
- Finance over 4-6 years
Would you happen to know what the specials are for the above vehichle (dealer invoice is, good price to pay and information on specials, rebates, incentives etc.)
I am located in Vancouver, British Columbia. My turn around time on purchase is 5 days from now. I will post photos as well as the final price paid. All help will be greatly appreciated.
Best Regards,
Studio17

In Canada there are no specials ever, so don't bother looking for any. The Hybrid is a good choice, but make sure not to buy a 4-banger powered Camry. Those neither give you the low emissions and great fuel economy of the Hybrid nor the performance of the V6 models. You'll regret the 4-banger all your life.

Try and tell that to my father. I bought him his first Camry CE in 2000 (a four banger) and he loves it.
It drives amazingly smooth and has been super reliable.
I have an I6 engine in my 2004 BMW and honestly I waste way to much money on gas.

Your sig will only appear once per thread at your earliest post. In the same way, you will notice that only my first post has my sig. This post that you're reading now does NOT display it.
It's a forum feature. Otherwise, threads will get very long because:
1) Some people have massive sigs
2) Repeating sigs just add to the length

I visited a dealership earlies this week and completed a deal on a new Camry. (keep in mind this is a 2007 LE)
Regular Price (Website and Window Sticker):
$25900 MSRP Vehicle - Camry LE - base model no options
$1240 Freight
plus gst/pst
$2000 - Cash back as advertised on the radio of the MSRP (before tax)
$750 - negotiated before tax, so that brings down the total overall (I had visited a few dealers over the past half year and none of them were willing to move on the price of the car. It seems that they will work a bit to move their 2007 inventory at this time)
Final price was:
$23150
$1240 Freight
plus gst/pst
When you factor the cost of the car plus the amazing interest rates this worked out to be a good deal.
If you're in the market for an 07 Toyotas, their are some amazing deals to be had.

For the price quoted you could have got a 08 XLE v6 with leather, premium alloy wheels and sunroof in the US.
lol...
I suggest you pretend you have CarCostCanada invoice. Spam to all the dealers (sales manager) in your neighbourhood/area, tell them that "i just recently get a quote 300 above invoice. Will you able to match it or beat it!"
V6's = more hp and more money wasted at the pump. I just got rid of a V6 that roughly only got about 280-300 mi per tank.
The I4, I am averaging 410 to 430 mi per tank.
A v6 might beat an I4 off the line, but who gives a rat's ass.
After owning V6's, and V8's my whole life, I like the I4. It saves me money.
Everything else is over rated.
I apologize if I have pissed in anyone's cheerios, I am just tired of the I4 vs. V6 battles on here. We all have Camry's, let's all just hook each other up with info when someone needs it...eh?

Try not to compare USA and Canadian cars and prices. It doesn't work. You could buy a USA model but then you have to spend money to retrofit the headlights, speedometre, etc.
The guy with the 2000 I4, I agree it worked well. Add several hundred pounds of steel and 20 horsepower and it's a different matter.
Unless the 2007 price is a pure steal, avoid it. The 2009 is due in about 5 weeks reportedly and you can then get a good deal on leftover 2008's.
At least drive a V6 before buying the I4.

< I couldn't find the crying icon >
It's so sad what we pay in Canada for our cars =( AND this was a good deal...
