2009 in Jan.?

Just read that 2009 camry will be in showrooms in Jan 2008. Are there any major changes, why else would they be releasing the 2009 that early.

Not really, since there aren't going to be any changes until 2010.

I am not surprise since I bought my 2007 in March 2006. It would be nice to see a minor changes in the 2009.

As I said before though, don't expect anything major (or even minor) changes. Looking from the past generations, changes aren't made until the Gen x.5 which occurs 3 years after the initial release, so in this case the Gen 6.5 SHOULD be in the 2010 model year.

hum in an aroung 1998 the new model year started around October or for a brand new model March. WTF The 08's have barely been out a few months.

Could that press release be a typo?

Not a typo, it will be out in March. The 09 only has minor tweaks, and has grouped more a la carte option into standard packages. Therefore raising the price a little.

Which options? My 07 was all in packages except for a handful of things like remote start, Sat Radio, and accessory stuff.

I think the 2009 will have the Traction Control as standard on all models. They do this to be in the same with the Accords. Competition is healthy.

I actually prefer the car without traction control. I'd rather be spinning the tires and slowly moving then having the traction control kick in and not get anywhere.
