Disable TPMS

Hello, I wish to inquire if anyone knows how to disable the TPMS system for the 2007 Camry? I will be getting new wheels soon and do not wish to use the TPMS for I do check tire pressures regularly.

Also, reading about TPMS, it has a battery life of a couple years at which point the valves and system will need to be replaced and reprogrammed again (dealer just quoted $175 PER sensor.) I prefer the simple valves that Costco or any tire store uses, even if new TPMS sensor can be purchased on ebay for $80/set of 4, let alone waiting at the dealer to "program" the sensors which they will probably charge another $60/hr for labor.

Thanks for anyone's input.

You cannot disable TPMS; however, some people have installed aftermarket wheels on their cars without the sensors and have had no issues other than the light coming on once in a while.

The TPMS warning light should either be a bulb or LED, which should be able to be removed/covered up from the back of the speedometer cluster.
