Gen6 Snow Driving School

The TODAY show had a segment about driving in the snow. They showed a school in Colorado and guess what, they drove Toyota Camry's and a Tundra truck. First thing I saw that really caught my eye was the tires were very snow friendly. By snow friendly I mean they has a fairly agresive tread. The tip for breaking was if you have ABS (keep the pressure on the brake} do not pump it that will cause you to loose the ABS system. Steering toward the direction you want to go was next and do not brake it will cause you to skid. A little power will cause the front wheel drive to pull you and the back end will follow and pull you straight. Slow down allow allot of room for braking. So it looks like it is here watching the news its a bummer in the middle of the country and good driving tips are always a good thing. So safe driving and no accidents ,bondo sucks.

Thats generally a good rule, but if theres someone/something in front of you, then you may not be able to accelerate to try and straighten out.

Things like that are always easier to remember on paper, but when something happens right in front of you or if you all of a sudden start to skid out of control, it's hard to remember what you should do so most people just slam on the brakes.

Best is to drive slow if the condition is not safe. Get there late is better then not get there at all.
