Gen5 ample brake caliper clearance? *pics*

man you guys must be sick of me and my wheel questions. i apologize. its just this place is such an excellent resource. im wondering if this is enough brake caliper clearance? i think it is but then i dont know as much as the people here....

also, after test fitting the wheels on the front of the car i think my gut instinct was right. these wheels looked ok. but on the car look much much better. kind of like shoes or clothes your iffy about on the shelf but look good when worn. i like the gs and is wheels but the is look too sporty. lets face it, the gen 5.5 isnt the most 'sporty' exterior. i think these look like they could have come on the car from the factory. maybe?

the wheels are more 'sunk in' than flush. (of course its on a jack so thats amplified) which was exactly what i was going for. looks more factory. nothing says aftermarket more than a flush or slightly out by a mm wheel(which looks good, just not the look i was aiming for)

As long as the wheel can rotate freely around the brake caliper without catching anything, you're fine.

The wheel looks bent to hell in this photo until I realized I was looking at the backside at the top.

Yep, that's plenty of brake clearance.

I have much less on a vehicle that has much more stress placed on it.

Is it just me or does that brake pad look like it's chipped on the corner?

For the lugs, find out if mazda uses conical or mag lugs. Toyota/lexus alloys uses the short shanked lugs with the washers. Just make sure the lugs will seat nicely, have enought thread pitch. etc..

alife is a store in the lower east side of manhatten. few people know about it but its basically the first/original sneaker boutique/skate shop. legendary place in a legendary part of manhatten.

what is conical and mag? and what are the differences and what do the two look like? im trying to understand ALL parts of wheels so next time i know exactly what works and what things are..

more than enough clearance spacing. a nice big brake kit would fit nicely under there
