Hey,
Just found out that im geting my grandfathers 04 camry in april. its going to be the first car i can call my own. its a v6 LE and its its pretty much perfect condition. i was wondering if you guys could tell me how to add more power to it without ripping out the engine and adding a v8. i would really rather not do that. maybee some brands of parts and kits that are nice i have plenty of time to save up till april so cost isint really an issus right now i just want to check out all my options to add ass much:
- Horse power
- Torque? (not even shure what tourque is)
- Speed
- Preformance
-and anyhting else that will basically turn my camry into the first toyota muscle car, as possible
any suggestions, comments,. jokes, rice or links, are welcome. links are nice
No world record shit though, im not strapping rockets to the roof. i saw them do that on mythbusters and the said dont try it at home if i kill the camry, ill never hear the end of it. and if i get killed in the process of killing my car my mom will flip out
And im pretty savy with repairs i can take a bic pen apart and put it back together wicked fast.
getting an 04 camry (LE v6 im pretty shure) in april was wondering if anyone could tell me how to add as much:
Horse Power!
Tourque?? (what is torque? is torque like bluetooth?)
Speed!
Preformance!
Horse Power!
as possible to it
anyhthing that will turn this into the first toyota muscle car
and then (i know its expencive prettymuch pointless and definatly a little ricy) i wanted to paint it. but not like a cheap shiny crap coat but like a sweet dark metallic red
- maybee some ideas on that to
price is no problem for now just want to check out all my options
i hear theres something called a tdr supercharge kit
whats tdr? and how much power can u add to a camry without making the car implode
What i mean is, i want this thing to be able to turn the world back on its axis when i hit the gas im thinking its a long shot and i should just get bent but any ideas on how to acheive this are greatly appreicated
dont want to replace whole engine
dont want to add rockets to car
saw stuff like this on mythbusters and it killed the car
if i ruin the car or kill myself in the process of working on it then my mom will definatly flip out
Torque is rotational force that causes a change in rotational momentum. Basically, that is the rotational force output by the engine. Horsepower is a measure of power is a measure of how fast an engine can output torque and do work.
If you want your Camry to be a muscle car, you are really headed in the wrong direction. Camry is a comfy family sedan. You can build a fast one, but few people do.
As far as TRD superchargers go, there are none for that model year.
Since this is a your parents' car, drive the car for what it is and learn to drive first before you make the car faster than you can handle because otherwise you'll definitely kill yourself due to your inexperience and for being a dumbshit.
LOl its a camry the best wicked fast mod you can do is get another car. If you really want to put that much money into a camry why not sell it and just buy a different car. makes alot more sense.

no its my car, i just wanted to know if for like a few bucks is there anyhting you could add to it to make it not look so bland. do u think a paint job would ruin it? i really dont know a lot about cars. is the camry nice? compared to other cars im looking it up and cant seem to find too much
a camry is not a car many ppl mod. there are not many aftermarket parts for that reason alone. a camry is a family sedan and is in no way a car that is meant to have tons of hp. you will not turn a camry into a musclecar for one fact alone. it is front wheel drive. i suggest just leaving the car the way it is and get a decent sound system. you will be happy with that.

yeah honestly you do sound young and im pretty sure you like music so a sound system would be a nice upgrade. The only other things i would if i were you would be tint , rims and lower. But thats just mainly for looks.
the camry isnt a mod friendly car in terms of performance....u have an LE, so youll wanna start with suspension to help your handling....i reccomend the TRD rear sway bar and front strut bar, as well as TRD, eibach or TIEN springs....tghrow some good tires and nice wheels on and youre good to go.
TRD stuff avalible here: www.trdparts4u.com www.toyotapartsstore.com
your stock engine is a 3.0 liter V6 four cam VVT-I engine designated as the 1mz-fe.
192hp, 209lbs ft torque
not the fastest car out there, but the V6 has a bit of get up and go
TRD makes an air cleaner and exhuast, and a few companies make headers and intakes, but beyond that there isnt much out there.
