Some of you guys are getting hammered by Old Man Winter. Here in the west we get snow up high on the ski area but it has been light down lower at 8000' and below. But when it hits it usually hits like it does in the East. So who has what on your car best chains Cables would be better I would think. I usually drive my 4X4 but have to take a trip in January so I want cables in case. I have 18" TRD rims.
chains and cables are illegal on the roads here...but i have Michelin X-Ice tires and they work amazing in snow..we got over 2 feet of snow yesterday and my grammas road wasn't plowed..and i made it through with ease..even with my car lowered...i think i plowed her street when i went down

I've never used chains on any car before, but living up in New England we get our share of bad winter weather, and I've always been able to get around (somewhat) with some good all-season tires with plenty of tread.
Ive never run chains up here, i stick with some studded winters (right now i have Bridgestone Winterforce) and theyve treated me pretty well. Ive never really tested their threshold of breaking loose but they get me where ive got to go.
you probably have more powder snow to deal wtih than us.. we have to get through more ice than anything and studded snows are good for that.

Finally got back from the uni to my beat up car...it's one thing parents letting inexperienced kids drive...it's a whole other thing letting youngsters letting inexperienced adults drive lol
Drop me a line sometime man, how's the suspension since we did it

Hey! I've been good, I was wondering where you were.
I heard you guys got hammered during the Thursday storm, a little over a foot in some places. Did you get much from the Sunday storm though? We got 6" on Thursday and about 8.5" on Sunday.
The springs are doing well, right now I have the stock steelies on so it's a bit more of a comfy ride, but still has some nice handling

Good hehe, I've been at the uni havn't seen much of my car, my mom pretty much destroyed my rims by parking in the city with the curbs so I gave up on the car heh, want to buy a new one but need a good source of income first haha so stuck for now but college in a month again so no biggie, but yeah I changed my wheels for the winter too, somehow my mom didnt like driving with the performance tires on ice...she actually slid off the road, thing is im not surprised at all at this point, I drove the next night with the same tires in sub freezing weather after the storm and was fine
my car is a sad story for me at this point no more
