You don't want to go much over 5 mm on a spacer lest the lug bolts' effective length will be too short.

+1
If you want to go more than 5mm then you should get the wheel adapter.

Wheels spacers

Wheel adapters

Gen5 spacers

how much of a spacer do you think i need i mean they have a HUB centric spacer which the lowest i found was 15 mm and i see a 5mm spacers i dont want the rim including tire to rub on the shocks part and also be able to clear the fender wall since the rear tires are pretty much stagger for the IS 350 rims

What are the offset of those IS350 rims again?
Moky, Epsilon, I am not sure on this one. Need your help here.

its a RWD offset so your best solution (without using spacers) is to acutally use 4 front wheels.

in my day, i've seen spacers and adapters do some really horrible things to nice people.

i think its less an offset issue and more of an 8.5 wide issue. because i think the offset is +45mm which is the stock offset for that car. the shock in back is pretty close to my new rims too. and any rim for that matter. like an inch. did you mean to say 1 inch instead of 1 mm?? cause thats REAL close.

oh...hes screwed then. my rims are +50 offset and awefully close to the rear shocks and my rims are 7.5 wide. so i guess he was right when he said 1mm. cause i got about an inch to the shocks and his rims are an inch wider... damn that sucks man. eyekutr was nice enough to set me up on a deal on these wheels and i reluctantly passed because of this very issue. however i think i have some good advice for you. this is what i thought about doing when i was gonna buy those rims. first off spacers are out. unless you REALLY have to. i suggest researching other cars. cars that could take a 8.5 wide wheel easier, find their forums and see if you can organize a trade with some one. post pics of the wheels. they are dope wheels i doubt youll have a hard time finding someone who likes them. and trade your two rears for his two fronts. that or you could buy another set and sell 4 rears..

what about if i tried like you said to trade rears for fronts or i could buy long racing studes for the rotor to be able to put a spacer and then rim what about that solution

if its 18x8.5 & 18x8, you wont need spacers. you can probably run it the way it is.
