5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I only have 2 payments left on my 05 Camry, meaning my lease is just about over. I currently pay 279 a month, but i only put 1500 down when i first got the car. IF i were to want to keep my payments around the she same Price for a 36 month 15,000 mile per year lease for an SE V6 with no other options, around how much would i need to put down at signing? How about for a base LE V6? I would also like the gap insurance. I have credit in the mid to high 800's if that means anything.

Why not see how much the owner of the car wants if you buy it from them now? You know the history and service record of the car. The car is good for years of service. I've never understood why anyone would lease a car unless it is a deductible expense of their business. Sure, monthly payments are low, but you never own anything.

The only real advantage I ever saw in leasing a car is if you only like to keep cars for a few years, and then drive something new. That way you don't have to worry about trading/selling your current car, or owning it when it's past 100K miles when repairs start to become an issue.
you also never have to worry about repair bills becasue a leased car is just about always under warranty, you get a lower payment than buying for a brand new quality car.
Im in college and I lease my 07 CE for 170 per month. I put 3k down and probably have the lowest payment for a brand new car of anyone i know. leasing was the smartest decision i could make becasue its the lowest payment i could get a new reliable car under warranty to get me out of college.

As of March 1, another $2200 body shop bill due to deer attack..
All of the above positive reasons are why i choose to lease. And i would NEVER want to buy this car outright. It is the worst camry ive ever had.Even the 92 camry i had got better MPG then this. my 03 blew it away in every aspect. Even the 00 was better. If my next camry isnt better, ill be switching back to honda.

We kinda got off track here, the OP wants to know how much it will cost to lease a new LE V6 or SE V6 w/GAP for 36 months.
Now back in May when I bought my car, we went over both leasing and financing. With my current situation I drive 20-25K miles a year, so leasing would be stupid for me.
Now this is off my memory so it may be slightly incorrect, but anyways. To lease the LE V6 priced at $24K, it was about $275-$320 per month for an 18,000 mile lease before any negotiating and with $1,500 cash down. IIRC there wasn't any special leasing deals going on at the time.
Hopefully you will like the Gen 6 V6 better, I got about 23-25MPG mixed driving during the summer/fall and about 21-23MPG in the winter so far.
just look around at the rates and perform your own calculation. you can add and remove as many variables as you want to. call up a leasing company or a bank and get a rate. i think that's your best bet without having to actually see a salesman/consultant.

Thanks for the help. You get better MPG in your V6 then i get in my I4. I can probibly get a fairly good price being that ive leased 4 cars from them, this is going to be my 5th.
