recirculation button problem.is this normal?

hi guys. im new to this site.
i have a brand new SE v6. i noticed when i was driving and i turn the recirculation button on so that air from the outside will not go inside the cabin, driving around 5 minute time , the button is on. Then all of a sudden it turns off by itself. I keep on pushing it to be on but same problem, it keeps on turning off. I checked the AC , the AC is off and the defogger is off as well.
is this normal? any help.
thanks guys.

it's one of the features... I think it's to keep the engine from overheating... but if you hold the knob for a few seconds, it should cancel it and it should stay on

The feature is described in the manual, but I guess you didn't bother with it.

More likely to keep the glass from fogging (which can happen in recirc) rather than keeping the engine from over-heating. (But I could be wrong JMHO)

I second this. Once again, you invest 25K into a car but you're too lazy to read the manual to learn how to operate the damn thing lol. I bet you read that lil manual for that Wii or PS3 or X-Box 360 though
