Just purcahsed a 08 camry. Something that annoyed me help please.

Hey guys . I just joined the forums. so glad my friend showed it to me. But anyways i just purchased a brand new 08 Camry CE. One thing i really did not like was when i pushed the Lock or Unlock door on my keyless both the high beams and low beams turn on and the horn beeps once. I was wondering if theres anyway i can somehow not have the low beams turn on when i press my unlock/lock button on my keyless. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It Does That? Lol... I Had No Clue. I Thought It Was Just Like The Gen. 5 Turn Signal Flash And The Little Cute "BEEP" "BEEP" It Made When I Unlocked It... You Must Have A AfterMarket System Installed By The Dealer.....Can You Confirm This?

It should work like Avalonman stated.

You can change a custom setting to only get the beep and no flashing turn signal light if desired (default is beep and turn signal flash)

Something is wired wrong in my opinion.

Have your service department check it out

I agree, something is wired wrong or the normal entry/egress program setup is mis-configured. Take it to the dealer!!!!!

Did you get the manual (or other info) for the after market system? Can you identify what type of system it is? There should be a "valet" switch somewhere on the dash (drivers side).

Get rid of that alarm system. Make sure you get the OEM Toyota system installed. It makes exactly the same sounds as the BMW alarm does actually.

i had the same thing.
it's toyota stuff but dealer installed. nothing is oem.
i had my headlight the same way.
i went to the dealer and the stopped the headlight lights
from flashing.

but if you truly want my opinion.
you should get it taken out and get your money back.
mine had numerous problems that are hard to explain.
I would definently go aftermarket.

It it is "toyota stuff" then it is OEM, whether factory installed or not.
